On March 5th during a special meeting of the Board of Education, members of the board worked in three small groups with staff and patrons to identify a building plan for the future of Madison Public Schools. The groups were assigned the task of identifying three pro’s and three con’s of the three concepts that were presented at the January 29th Community Information meeting. Attached are examples of feedback the Board received on the White Plan. The Board then took formal action to approve the “White Plan” with future construction of a competition gym and locker rooms along with a middle school commons area that will contain restrooms and a concession area.
The projected timeline for the project would have the district receiving bids in December of 2018 with possible construction to commence in March/April of 2019. Madison Public schools stakeholders are excited to take this step forward with our physical plant improvements to help better support our students, families and community.
