Reminder to Madison Fine Arts families: We have two opportunities to share our talents and spread holiday spirit on Sunday, December 7: Band kids can come and play carols at the Madison Arts Center (110 E 4th Street) at 1:30pm, and carolers can come sing at the pool house at Barnes Park Arboretum for Holidazzle at 7:00pm. See you there!

Atención a las familias de las Bellas Artes de MPS: Tenemos dos oportunidades para compartir nuestros talentos y difundir la alegría navideña el domingo, 7 de diciembre: Los miembros de las bandas pueden tocar en el Madison Arts Center (110 E 4th) a las 1:30 pm, y los miembros de los coros pueden venir a cantar villancicos en el edificio al lado de la piscina (Barnes Park Arboretum) a las 7:00 pm. ¡Nos vemos allí!

Winter pep season has begun!! Thank you to the musicians who came in from practice sweaty and ready to play, left the court after your game and joined the band, cheered on the game before your big moment, and stayed late on a school night to bring energy and enthusiasm to last night's contest. Your community loves you and appreciates your effort!

One Act Competition Wrap-Up

We’ve officially wrapped up our One Act competition season, and I couldn’t be prouder of our cast and crew. Over the past few weeks, our students have poured their energy, time, and creativity into bringing this show to life. They handled long rehearsals, early call times, quick turnarounds, and the pressures of competition with professionalism and heart.

Each performance showed real growth—stronger delivery, tighter staging, and a deeper understanding of the story we set out to tell. More importantly, our students supported one another every step of the way, celebrating wins, navigating challenges, and representing our program with integrity.

Thank you to everyone—students, families, and staff—who helped make this season possible. We are grateful, proud, and already excited for what’s next!

Congratulations to both girls and boys earning victories in season and home openers against Schuyler last night! Dragons will play again tomorrow in Madison starting a 1pm. #weRmadison

Calling all singers! Would you like to sing a couple of pieces with our crew at the 6-12 Winter Concert on December 18 at 7:00pm? We are having Community Choir rehearsals in the high school music room at the following times:

Monday, December 8, from 3:45-4:30pm
Thursday, December 11, from 3:45-4:30pm & 5:45-6:30pm
Monday, December 15, from 3:45-4:30pm & 5:45-6:30pm
Thursday, December 18: Dress rehearsal at 6:15pm

Attention band families: The winter pep band schedule is in the photo! High school band students are required to attend the games in which they do not participate, insofar as the times do not conflict with sports practice or verified emergencies. Middle school band students are encouraged to attend as many games as possible; they earn house points or can recoup credit for any missing fall pep points in the 7-8 band. Call times and game times are approximate. Please reach out to Amber Knight with any questions by calling the school or emailing aknight@mpsdragons.org.

Los estudiantes de la banda preparatoria deben asistir a los partidos en los que no participan, si los horarios no entran en conflicto con la práctica deportiva o emergencias verificadas. Three of our 8th grade math students completed the iReady Math program. To do this while we are still in the 1st semester, is an incredible accomplishment.

Mr. Harrington presented them with certificates of completion and a gift.
